It's literally a gold mine, there's not much to explain here. On a small island, or a remote part of a larger island, a notorious slaver is holding a major auction. Slave prices have gone up because the trade's been getting disrupted. It's well advertised, and word reaches Tortuga. Every slave owner and his mother is going to be there to bid, and they've all brought boatloads of gold, silver, jewels and precious valuables to trade for some human chattel.
